It’s all about new comedy on UK TV in the next couple of weeks: coming to Channel 4 is the third and final series of Jack Rooke’s excellent Big Boys, over on BBC One is Motherland spinoff Amandaland plus a second series of Daisy May Cooper and Selin Hizli’s Am I Being Unreasonable?, plus a new run of comedy-drama Boarders streaming on BBC Three. And exciting news for fans of Hacks – the third series (along with the first two) is finally arriving in the UK thanks to Sky on Demand and NOW, on Friday Feb 7.
If you’re more a fan of precision-engineered action-thrillers in which characters leap out of exploding speedboats and scream things like “secure the perimeter” into walkie talkies, then The Night Agent season two is streaming now on Netflix. And if cerebral mysteries based around high-concept ideas are your thing, then Severance two has also started on Apple TV+.
After the Star Trek: Section 31 movie arrives, there’s more Yellowjackets, Reacher, Cobra Kai and The White Lotus, arriving on streaming in Feb, along with new six-part UK drama A Thousand Blows, from the creator of Peaky Blinders. As well as all that, here’s a big look ahead to the new British drama coming up, all the big returning British series this year, and for crime fans, a list of the new UK crime dramas to anticipate in 2025.
We’ll update this list of TV highlights weekly with more shows, dates and times as the release announcements arrive. If you’re based in the US, here’s where to look for the relevant info.
