This week, fantasy fans welcome back Prime Video’s Wheel of Time for its third season, comedy fans in the UK welcome the fourth and final run of excellent televangelist sitcom The Righteous Gemstones, and drama fans welcome the arrival of the brilliant Adolescence on Netflix. That last one is a tough but compelling watch from the creators of the excellent restaurant drama Boiling Point and Jack Thorne, and tells the hard-hitting story of a 13-year-old boy accused of killing his classmate. And for lighter fare, there’s a new series of Celebrity Bake-Off for Stand Up to Cancer over on Channel 4 from Sunday, and the end approaches for crime drama Virdee on BBC One.
For US drama fans, there’s more Yellowjackets, Reacher, Cobra Kai and The White Lotus all streaming this month, along with new six-part UK dramas A Thousand Blows, from the creator of Peaky Blinders, and Dope Girls. As well as all that, here’s a big look ahead to the new British drama coming up, all the big returning British series this year, and for crime fans, a list of the new UK crime dramas to anticipate in 2025.
