Upcoming Marvel Movies and TV: MCU Release Date Schedule for Phase 6 and Beyond

The Sony Spidey-verse may be dead (for now), but the Marvel Cinematic Universe is rebuilding. Having delivered a string of solid projects like Deadpool & Wolverine, X-Men ’97, Thunderbolts*, Fantastic Four: First Steps, Agatha All Along, and Daredevil: Born Again, Marvel is finally heading towards not one but two Avengers movies, and the first one arrives this year!

If you’ve been a little confused by Marvel’s shifting dates and streaming priorities, never fear! We’ve got a comprehensive release calendar for you here detailing all the upcoming MCU projects, so you’ll always be able to find the latest updates when you need them.

Let’s take a look at everything that Marvel has in store for the next few years, as well as any projects from the Marvel Studios-Sony partnership…

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams in Marvel's Wonder Man.

Wonder Man

Release Date: January 27, 2025

Hawkeye turned out to be a wonderful holiday present from showrunner Andrew Guest, who returns with the gift of Wonder Man in January. Co-created with Destin Daniel Cretton of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Wonder Man stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Candyman) as struggling actor Simon Williams, who is desperate to get a part in a fictional remake of a superhero movie – also called Wonder Man!

Who better to guide Simon on this Hollywood journey than the renowned actor Trevor Slattery (Ben Kingsley), whose King Lear was apparently the toast of Croydon? The duo will be navigating all that Tinseltown has to throw at them, which will probably be much more superhero-flavored than they expect.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Release Date: March 4, 2026

Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) was born again on Disney+ in 2025, and he’ll be back in 2026 for season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, along with another Defender from the Netflix-Marvel era – Jessica Jones!

After Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) rose to power in season 1 and imposed martial law, the Man Without Fear will have to gather his allies to fight back against Fisk and the Anti-Vigilante Task Force he set up to suppress masked heroes. Luckily, Matt will have Jessica (Krysten Ritter) by his side this time around, but Frank Castle will be doing something a bit different…

Punisher TV Special

Release Date: Mid-2026

Set to join the dots between Daredevil: Born Again season 2 and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, this upcoming Disney+ one-off special will give us a solo Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) outing featuring a balls-to-the-wall version of the Punisher that fans have been excited to see on screen for quite a while.

Bernthal is promising a “visceral, psychologically complex, unforgiving, no-holds-barred version of Frank where he’s going to turn his back to the audience,” adding that “nothing is easy and all violence has a cost, and we’re going to see that cost.” We can’t wait!

Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland as Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Release Date: July 31, 2026

Marvel’s most prized superhero will finally return to keep the streets safe this summer, as Tom Holland is back in the suit for Destin Daniel Cretton’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The movie will catch up with Peter Parker following the devastating events of No Way Home, when he lost his Aunt May and found himself completely alone after Doctor Strange cast a spell to make everyone forget him.

It seems that Peter might make some familiar friends and enemies in this Sony-Marvel fourquel, though, as Mark Ruffalo will be joining him in this one as Bruce Banner, while The Punisher is also along for the ride. Stranger Things star Sadie Sink will also be climbing aboard the MCU here in a very mysterious role. Hmm…

X-Men 97 Episode 3

X-Men ’97 Season 2

Release Date: Mid-2026

We already know that the excellent X-Men ’97 will return for a second season, continuing the animated adventures of our favorite mutants on Disney+. When the show does come back, it’ll undoubtedly pick up where the timey-wimey finale left off. We have some theories about which comic book stories may be adapted in the second season here, so feel free to check that out if you’re intrigued!

Paul Bettany as The Vision and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff in Marvel Studios' WANDAVISION exclusively on Disney+.

Vision Quest

Release Date: Late 2026

Agatha All Along isn’t the only show spinning out of WandaVisionVisionQuest is coming from Star Trek: Picard season 3 showrunner Terry Matalas. Given the excellent work that Matalas did on Picard, we can’t wait to see what he’s cooked up for us in the Marvel universe.

So, what do we know so far? Well, James Spader will be back as Ultron, and several of Tony Stark’s other AIs will also be around, but this time the likes of F.R.I.D.A.Y. and E.D.I.T.H. will be in human form. Wha? Oh! And, of course, Paul Bettany returns as White Vision. We’ll see a grown-up version of his son Tommy, too.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2

Release Date: Late 2026

Marvel’s bumper crop of MCU projects continues into the later months of 2026 when Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man returns for more animated mayhem in season 2.

Season 2 will be a big one, as it plans to introduce Venom and Gwen Stacy while bringing back Charlie Cox’s Daredevil. Norman and Harry Osborn, Doctor Octopus, Chameleon, Scorpion, and Nico Minoru will also make appearances. Since this series takes place in an alternate universe, the creators get to have some fun with characters that the MCU can’t play with in live-action (yet).

Chris Hemsworth as Thor in Avengers: Doomsday

Avengers: Doomsday

Release Date: December 18, 2026

Originally, Marvel planned for Kang the Conqueror to be the big bad of Phases 4 through 6, with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty leading into the capper Avengers: Secret Wars. But when Kang actor Jonathan Majors’ misdeeds came to light, Marvel went into a panic trying to come up with a new plan.

After shuffling through various directors and writers, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige decided to go back to what worked in the past, in more ways than one. Avengers: Doomsday is helmed by Joe and Anthony Russo, who left the franchise after helming Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. With them comes Robert Downey Jr., but not as Tony Stark. No, he’s playing Victor Von Doom, the long-awaited MCU version of Doctor Doom.

“What?” you ask? “How?” you ask? “Don’t know!” we answer. While there is some comic book precedent for an Iron Man/Doctor Doom connection, some reality swapping will probably be involved, which makes sense because not only is our multiversal overseer Loki in this movie, but so are the X-Men and The Fantastic Four.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 3

Release Date: March 2027

Yes, there’ll be a third season of Daredevil: Born Again! We don’t know much about it right now, but when we do, you can bet we’ll update you asap.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse

Release Date: June 18, 2027

After many delays, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is on its way to us. This may be the third (and final??) entry in the dazzling Miles Morales movies, but it’s set to be a very dangerous era for Miles, as the previous film left him trapped in an Earth-42 where he never became Spider-Man, his father is dead, and his uncle (The Prowler) lives. Meanwhile, Gwen Stacy has had to rally her team to rescue him. There’s a lot at stake in this threequel!

Marvel's Avengers: Secret Wars logo

Avengers: Secret Wars

Release Date: December 17, 2027

We know for sure that Avengers: Secret Wars is coming in 2027, but since there have been a few versions of the Secret Wars saga in Marvel Comics, it’s unclear which story the MCU iteration might follow. However, if this is the end of the Multiverse Saga, the movie will probably adapt the 2015 series by Jonathan Hickman. In that storyline, Doctor Doom recreates reality in his own image, with Reed Richards leading a revolt to set things right.

We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more story info on this one as its development unfolds!

The Black Panther in Wakanda Forever

Black Panther 3

Release Date: 2028

Another Marvel threequel on the way is Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther 3, which will seemingly take place after the events of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Filming is set to begin this year, with the movie’s story currently under wraps. All we know so far is that Denzel Washington will be in it, which is a pretty big revelation to be fair!

(L-R): Xialing (Meng’er Zhang), Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) and Katy (Awkwafina) in Marvel Studios' SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings 2

Release Date: Unknown

Phew! Shang-Chi will finally get the sequel he deserves after the success of his 2021 MCU introduction! Before that, we’ll definitely get to see Simu Liu’s ring-throwing superhero in Avengers: Doomsday, but we really do want him to get a full movie – it’s been ages!

There’s no release date for this Marvel movie yet, but at least it’s in development.

Kelsey Grammer as Beast in X-Men The Last Stand

Untitled X-Men Film

Release Date: Unknown

Deadpool & Wolverine saw some of Fox’s X-Men characters collide with the Marvel Cinematic Universe to great effect, but there’s a lot more X-Men to come. And when we say a lot, we mean a lot. Not only do some of the original Fox X-Men appear in Avengers: Doomsday, but the mutants are rumored to be getting their own MCU movie in Phase 7, and are heavily featured in Kevin Feige’s plans for the next decade of Marvel output.

Iron Man and War Machine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Armor Wars

Release Date: Unknown

And now we hit the “will this ever actually happen?” section of this list, unfortunately.

Just days after a different major project was removed from Marvel’s schedule, writer Yassir Lester took to social media in October 2024 to assure fans that Armor Wars was still happening. But a couple months later, in February 2025, MCU producer Nate Moore gave a fuzzy answer when asked about it.

If it does ever happen, Armor Wars will be a sequel to Secret Invasion that stars Don Cheadle as James Rhodes, who was replaced by a Skrull imposter sometime around Captain America: Civil War. At one point, Walton Goggins was also set to reprise his role as Sonny Burch from Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Originally imagined as a Disney+ series and then retooled into a movie, Armor Wars still remains in development, despite initial plans to start filming in 2023. We’ll see.

Marvel Studios Blade Logo

Blade

Release Date: Unknown

After years of trying to skate uphill and make a movie about a C-list superhero that fit in the MCU and also paid respect to the original films, and also somehow met star Mahershala Ali’s lofty ambitions, Marvel has put a spike into the Blade film. Well, they removed it from the calendar anyway.

That’s not quite the same thing as cancelation, but given everything we’ve heard about a production that has no vision or direction, it’s hard to believe the Daywalker’s next movie will see the light of day. This one seems to be stuck in development hell for the foreseeable future!
